What is NeuroStar TMS, and who is it for?
NeuroStar transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is an FDA-cleared, non-medication treatment that uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. It’s often a good fit for adults with major depressive disorder who haven’t found relief from antidepressants. Treatment happens right here in our Goldsboro, NC office, and you’re awake and alert the entire time — no anesthesia, no downtime. NeuroStar is available to any qualifying patient, even if you’re not already established with our practice.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Your first visit is a conversation. We’ll talk through your symptoms, medical and family history, past treatments, and what you’re hoping to change. From there, we build a plan together — which may include medication management, TMS, Qb testing for ADHD, or a combination of approaches. Plan for a longer visit than a typical follow-up, and bring a list of any current medications and supplements.
